Cuando un ángel adolescente agita sus alas, produce en el ambiente frescura, alegría y desfachatez. Imaginémonos entonces a cinco exponentes de esta clase de jóvenes mágicos, literalmente, todos juntos “revolcados” en un camarín minúsculo, durante la entrevista con CARAS, o en una sesión fotográfica animada por aires navideños… Sí, el revuelo es superlativo, y de inmediato se comprende el gran secreto de su carisma: ¡los “Teen Angels” son pibes sanos y auténticos! Estos cinco ángeles tienen varios nombres, dependiendo de si están volando en la ficción o desplazándose en la Tierra. La de menor edad es María Eugenia Suárez Riveiro (16) -frente a las cámaras de TV o en un escenario es “Jazmín”-; le siguen Mariana Espósito (17)
–reconocida por los fans como “Marianella”-; Juan Pedro Lanzani, alias “Peter” [18] –cuyo personaje es “Thiago”-; Nicolás Riera (23) –“Tacho” en la ficción-; y Gastón Dalmau (25) -adorado en su interpretación de “Rama”-.
En el momento en que “Casi Angeles”, el exitoso programa dirigido a adolescentes -creado por Cris Morena- comenzó a emitirse en 2007 (por Telefe), el guión sólo contemplaba la idea de que varios personajes interactuaran en la ficción con los dos protagonistas, Emilia Attias y Nicolás Vázquez. Pero el devenir de las historias y la aceptación del público quisieron que de ese programa se desprendiera una banda, los “Teen Angels”. Su éxito fue impactante: en tan sólo dos años el quinteto editó tres ábumes bajo el sello discográfico Sony BMG. El primero (llamado “Teen Angels”) obtuvo el Disco de Platino a días de su lanzamiento, en abril de 2007. Luego vino “Teen Angels 2” (lanzado en 2008), el cual fue Doble Disco de Platino y lleva más de 100.000 unidades vendidas. Hay un tercer CD editado que ofrece versiones en vivo de sus actuaciones en el Gran Rex durante las vacaciones de invierno (batieron el récord de funciones, hicieron 72 en dos meses y medio, convocando a 220.000 personas).
Viernes 12, 13:45. El escenario del teatro Gran Rex no es ajeno al espíritu navideño que se respira en la ciudad. Se ultiman detalles de una escenografía que incluye un gigantesco árbol de Navidad. Al día siguiente dará comienzo la primera de las ocho funciones que ofrecerá “Casi Angeles” para despedir el año (los días 13, 14, 20 y 21 de diciembre). El periodista de CARAS esquiva técnicos, cables, mamposterías, atraviesa el escenario y se sumerge en el universo de los camarines. Allí, los ángeles adolescentes que integran la banda “Teen Angels” descansan luego de una ajetreada mañana de ensayos. Algunos, recostados en un sofá, otros sobre una manta en un rincón… Pero a la hora pautada para la entrevista, frente al grabador todos despliegan sus alas, además de su proverbial frescura y alegría.
—¿Qué regalos le pidieron a Papá Noel cuando eran chicos, lo recuerdan?
—EUGENIA: Una vez le pedí un perro y un auto de “Barbie”. El perro, obviamente nunca me lo trajo, mi mamá no quería porque vivíamos en un departamento, y el auto… tampoco. ¡Ja, ja, ja!
—MARIANA: Yo también quería una “Barbie”, una que era veterinaria y venía con un perrito y un gatito. Me encantaba. Mi mamá me dijo que Papá Noel me la traería. Cuando llegó Navidad, yo estaba segura que la iba a tener, pero después me terminaron regalando un horrible llavero con luces (Risas).
—NICOLAS: Yo detestaba cuando me regalaban ropa, ¡quería juguetes!
—GASTON: Yo le había pedido a Papá Noel en la carta un guante que arrojara telaaraña, como el del “Hombre Araña”. Pero era algo que no existía, yo imaginaba que se podía conseguir, aunque no lo había visto en ninguna juguetería. Me terminaron diciendo que Papá Noel lo buscó por todos lados y no lo encontró. Ja, ja, ja…
—¿Y a vos, Peter, que te traía Papá Noel?
—PETER: Yo también había pedido una “Barbie”, pero no me la trajo (Risas). No, en serio, a mí siempre me sorprendió con regalos muy lindos.
—¿Alguno de ustedes se disfraza de Santa Claus en Nochebuena?
—NICOLAS: ¡Sí, yo! Me disfrazo para unos sobrinos. Así que ya saben, si quieren contratarme, manden un mail a: “PapáNoelsoyyo@...”. (Risas y aplausos generalizados).
—¿Y para la próxima Navidad, ya le escribieron la cartita?
—GASTON: Yo sí, le pedí mucha plata, autos... Ja, ja, ja. No, fuera de broma, siempre le pido lo que me hace feliz de verdad: salud, trabajo, estar unido a mi familia.
—¿No le habrán pedido una novia, o sí?
—NICOLAS: Si tiene que aparecer una novia, que aparezca. Pero todo a su debido tiempo…
—EUGENIA: Con el tema del noviazgo, creo que primero hay que empezar a quererse uno mismo, para después aprender a querer a otra persona.
—Chicos, ¿ser un modelo para muchos adolescentes lo sienten como una carga pesada?
—EUGENIA: No nos sentimos presionados por eso, porque somos auténticos. Nosotros somos así, y quien nos tome como modelos, bienvenido sea. Creo que eso es lo que se trasmite y gusta. Somos gente muy sana.
—¿Qué extrañan del anonimato?
—NICOLAS: Las salidas con mis amigos.
—MARIANA: Poder ir a un boliche con mis amigos y bailar sin que me importe nada, sin que nadie observe qué hago y qué dejo de hacer. Pero bueno, si nos exponemos a esto, es nuestra decisión.
—¿Creen que están “quemando etapas” muy rápido?
—EUGENIA: Yo no me banco que gente que ni siquiera conozco, me diga: “tené cuidado, no quemes etapas”. Reconozco que me toca vivir una vida diferente a la de cualquier chica de 16 años, pero mi prioridad ahora es este trabajo, que amo con todo mi corazón.
—MARIANA: A mí, mis viejos me siguen poniendo los mismos límites. Si voy a bailar, me preguntan a qué hora llego... No cambió toda mi vida por integrar “Teen Angels”. Lo que sí es verdad es que estamos obligados a no hacer cosas típicas de nuestra edad, porque tenemos horarios que cumplir, es una hermosa responsabilidad.
—GASTON: Yo que soy el más grande del grupo, tengo 25, siento que no quemé etapas porque empecé a trabajar desde los 18 años. A ellos los admiro mucho, porque la verdad es que, a su edad, son muy responsables.
—EUGENIA: A mí, mis padres me dieron mucha libertad, pero porque me tienen confianza, saben que no fumo, no bebo alcohol... Soy muy sana.
—PETER: Yo tengo dos hermanos varones mayores, que si me ven un poco agrandado, enseguida me hacen recordar mis raíces.
Eugenia, Mariana, Nicolás, Gastón y Peter aceptan que, a veces, sus diferencias los llevan a mantener discusiones, pero todo lo arreglan a través del diálogo. “No siempre, ojo –bromea Gastón-. A veces no nos ponemos de acuerdo y nos boxeamos. ¡No sabés cómo pegan las chicas!”. Recién en este segundo año, la banda comenzó a tener identidad propia, aparte del programa “Casi Angeles”. Su sola presencia en cualquier lugar público hace que se agolpen chicos y grandes para pedirles autógrafos y sacarse fotos. Ellos ya asumen con madurez su papel de artistas populares.
—¿Qué opinan de la adolescencia actual?
—EUGENIA: Yo, por ejemplo, nunca sigo la moda, no me importa, me visto como quiero, no me interesan los pantalones “chupines” ni nada de eso. Si bien me interesa la imagen, porque soy coqueta, nunca me gustó imitar a nadie, como sucede ahora con muchos adolescentes.
—MARIANA: A mí me da un poco de pena que para muchos adolescentes todo pase por cómo estás vestido, que se peleen muchos chicos porque piensan distinto, o porque tienen otro corte de pelo.
—NICOLAS: Algunos dicen que ahora los adolescentes están perdidos, pero ¿qué hicieron las generaciones anteriores? ¡Pido que los adultos no nos echen la culpa de todo a los adolescentes, que se fijen qué es lo que están haciendo ellos! ¡He dicho...! Ja, ja, ja.
—(TODOS LOS DEMAS): ¡Se siente, se siente, Nico Presidente! (Carcajadas y festejos totales).
—NICOLAS: Así somos los “Teen Angels”, cinco buenas personas, honestas, no imitamos a nadie ni queremos ser como otros. Somos así, como nos ves. ¿No merezco otro aplauso, chicos? (Ovación final y triunfal).
